MockMic asks interview questions and gives you scored feedback on your answers. This page explains where those questions come from, how the feedback is produced, and what it is and is not.

1. Where the Questions Come From

  • A curated question bank — questions written to reflect the kinds of behavioural and role-specific questions commonly asked in interviews, organised by competency and difficulty.
  • AI-generated follow-ups — during a session the AI asks follow-up questions based on what you actually said.
  • Job descriptions you provide — if you paste a job description, questions are tailored to that role.

We do not publish, sell or reproduce any specific employer's real interview questions, and we do not source questions from confidential or leaked material. No employer is affiliated with, sponsors, or endorses MockMic.

2. How Feedback Is Produced

Scores and written feedback are generated by large language models. Your answer is assessed against a fixed rubric covering structure, specificity, confidence and conciseness, and the model returns scores, a strength, a suggested fix and a rewritten version of your answer.

  • No human reviews your answers or your feedback.
  • Scores are produced by an automated system. They are not calibrated against any employer's hiring bar and may vary between sessions for similar answers.
  • Feedback can be wrong. It may miss something a human interviewer would notice, or flag something that would not matter in a real interview.

3. What This Is Not

MockMic is a practice tool. It is not career, recruitment, legal or employment advice, it does not assess your suitability for any job, and practising here does not predict or guarantee the outcome of any real interview.

4. What You Should Not Put In

Your answers are sent to third-party AI providers to generate feedback (see the Privacy Policy). Please do not include material that is confidential to a current or former employer, and do not include other people's personal information in your answers.

5. Reporting a Problem

If a question is offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate, or if feedback you received was harmful, tell us at info@alstonanalytics.com and we will review it. We remove questions that are reported and found to be inappropriate.
